Exposure to music can improve learning and increase positive classroom atmosphere. Music can impact the way that the brain can process information, enhances the perception of language and speech, and subsequently improves our ability to communicate. It has a relaxing and calming effect which enables efficacious learning .Keeping these points in mind, we at Army Public School Dighi introduce the child to education beyond the classroom by conducting music classes on a regular basis. Music is an excellent way to calm one’s nerves.
Here students are trained to play western instruments like saxophone, clarinet, recorder, drum set, octapad, guitar along with Indian classical instruments like sitar, tabla, dholak, etc as well as vocal music. . The students appear for their music exams through The Trinity College of London and the Akhil Bharatiya Gandharva Mahavidyalaya Mandal, Mumbai. The school provides a platform for the students to exhibit their talent at various inter-school and state level competitions.
