BAGLESS DAY ACTIVITIES Bagless Day, an initiative by CBSE, aims to demonstrate that learning extends beyond textbooks and to give students a much-needed break from the physical burden of their school bags. Each Bagless Day features activities designed to enhance skills and knowledge in innovative and creative ways.This time, the theme was “Celebrating Indian Diversity.” The day began with a “Show and Tell,” where students shared insights about different cultures, fostering an appreciation for the rich diversity of our nation. During the 4th and 5th periods, the atmosphere was filled with rhythmic beats of patriotism as students sang passionately, reflecting the patriotism coursing through their veins. Following this, students from classes 6 to 9 deepened their Sanskrit vocabulary through various language-enriching activities, such as shloka recitation and creating “Shabdrupani.” The day concluded with a creative twist, where students engaged in making portfolio files, allowing them to express their creativity while reinforcing the day’s learning in a tangible form

Cluster Badminton Championships Girls We are thrilled to announce that the Under-14 Girls Badminton Team of Army Public School, Dighi, has proudly secured the Silver medal in the prestigious CBSE Cluster IX Badminton Championships 2024. The event was hosted by All Saints High School, Kalyan, Mumbai, and saw participation from numerous schools across Maharashtra and Goa.The team, consisting of:Gargi Kamtekar (Class 6)Shipra Kadam (Class 8)Advika Pawar (Class 8)performed exceptionally well, showcasing great teamwork, agility, and determination throughout the tournament. This commendable performance is a testament to their dedication and hard work. Their achievement has brought immense pride to the school, and they are well on their way to achieving greater heights in future competitions.Congratulations to the team and their coach for this remarkable achievement! Felicitation Ceremony Under the visionary leadership and guidance of Principal Kavita Kadam, APS Dighi hosted a grand Felicitation Ceremony to honor the toppers of Std X and XII, along with their dedicated teachers. Brig Dileep Ganesh Patwardhan, Commandant Bombay Engineer Group and Centre, Chairman of the school graced the occasion as the Chief Guest along with the other esteemed dignitaries who added to the significance of the event.The top-performing students were awarded certificates of excellence and cash awards, recognizing their hard work and dedication. In a special segment, the teachers who played a key role in the students' success were also felicitated with certificates, mementos, and cheques as a token of appreciation. Chief Guest in his inspiring address, applauded the toppers for their exceptional achievements and emphasized the importance of perseverance, discipline, and consistent hard work. He also praised the teachers and the parents for their constant support and guidance, noting their pivotal role in shaping the future of the students.The event concluded with a vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the school, parents, and teaching staff. INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION With freedom in our hearts and pride in our spirits, the 78th Independence Day at APS Dighi unfolded beneath the soaring skies to pay a splendid tribute to our nation's freedom and the spirit of Women Empowerment. The ceremony began with the resonant strains of the National Cadet Corps (NCC) band, welcoming our Chief Guest, Brigadier S.R. Mazagaonkar (Retd.). Following this, Brigadier Mazagaonkar graciously hoisted the National Flag, a symbol of our pride and unity. This moment was accompanied by the National Anthem, serving as a stirring reminder of our collective patriotism.The day's celebrations centered around the theme of "Viksit Bharat," symbolizing our nation's steadfast commitment to achieving development by 2047. The highlight of the event was the Girls NCC Band’s performance, which exemplified courage and discipline, powerfully embodying the spirit of Women Empowerment.The celebration unfolded a series of captivating performances, including eloquent speeches, melodious musical and poetic renditions, and a stirring patriotic song. A memorable dance performance sequence, set to the evocative tunes of 'Mardaani' and 'Aigiri Nandani,' celebrated the strength and resilience of women with grace and vigor.The day concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks by the Head Boy, who acknowledged the invaluable contributions of everyone involved, from our dedicated teachers to the meticulous technical support team. Students departed with a renewed sense of patriotism and realization of their role in shaping India’s future. The celebration not only honoured our past but also kindled a spirit of commitment and unity, reinforcing the ideals of freedom and empowerment in every heart present.

INVESTITURE CEREMONY The Investiture Ceremony for the academic session 2024-2025 was held with great pomp and splendor on the 9th of August at Army Public School. The event, which symbolizes the beginning of a new leadership journey for the students, was graced by the esteemed presence of Lt Col D S Chakraborty as the Chief Guest.The ceremony commenced with a warm welcome through a musical Swagat geet presented by the choir, followed by an introduction to the Chief Guest. A cultural performance based on ‘Mahabharata’ highlighting the righteous path the badge holders must walk upon was presented. The atmosphere was charged with excitement as the event proceeded with the distribution of badges and sashes. The honor of awarding these symbols of responsibility to the newly elected Student Council members was shared by both Lt Col D S Chakraborty and the Principal. This significant moment marked the official induction of the council members, who are now entrusted with leading their peers and setting an example for the rest of the student body.Parents of the council members were also in attendance, witnessing the proud moment of their children's induction into the Student Council. Their presence added to the joy and pride of the occasion, making it a memorable day for all.The ceremony concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks, presented by the newly elected Student Council. Their words of gratitude not only acknowledged the efforts of those who made the event possible but also reflected their commitment to fulfilling their duties with dedication and integrity. PLANTATION DRIVE Army Public School, Dighi’s Verdant InitiativeDighi, August 12, 2024 – In a heartening endeavour to nurture nature and honour motherhood, Army Public School, Dighi, in association with BEG & Centre, organized a flourishing plantation drive amidst the serene landscapes of Dighi Hills. The initiative, as part of the PM-led national campaign ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam,’ witnessed the spirited participation of 108 students, led by the esteemed Principal Mrs. Kavita Kadam, along with six devoted teachers. Together, they planted 200 thriving saplings, including neem, banyan, and Indian rosewood. An officer from BEG & Centre emphasized the pressing need to confront climate change, reflecting on Pune's shifting climate due to rampant deforestation. Over the past two years, the Sappers have planted more than 1 lakh saplings in this area, enhancing Pune’s Forest cover and protecting its fragile ecosystem This ongoing effort is a reflection of the commitment to environmental preservation, aligning with the larger goal of safeguarding our planet. The initiative not only sowed the seeds of environmental awareness in young minds but also imparted invaluable lessons in nurturing and caring for the earth. The students departed with a profound sense of responsibility, eager to return and witness the growth of the saplings they lovingly planted, firmly embracing their role as guardians of our planet's future.

Subroto Cup Football Tournament The Army Public School Dighi football team embarked on an exciting and challenging journey during  this football season. Under the guidance of our dedicated coaching staff, the players worked diligently to hone their skills and strategies. The ‘Subroto Mukerjee Sports Education Society’ conducts the prestigious Subroto Cup International Football Tournament, named after the Indian Air Force Air Marshal Subroto Mukerjee, every year.Army Public School Dighi, under 15 boys team participated in this tournament in PCMC Division. More than 60 school teams participated and our school team grabbed the 1st position and qualified for the Division Level competition.In Division Level Pune District, Solapur District and Ahilyanagar District teams participated. The APS Dighi team  achieved the  2 nd position.
